College Station Home Market is One of the Safest in the Country

As reported in the news, College Station homes are among the lowest foreclosure ratings in America. Realtytrac is a leading resource in the country for foreclosures and their annual report showed College Station to be the lowest in Texas and the sixth lowest in the country. Another interesting fact in the report was that the 7 lowest rated cities were all college based communities so there is no doubt that Texas A&M University was a major contributing factor for College Station. The report can be found here http://www.realtytrac.com/contentmanagement/pressrelease.aspx?channelid=9&accnt=0&itemid=8346

Realtytrac doesn’t obtain all of the foreclosures, as they only reported 12 for the cities of Bryan and College Station for all of 2009, but Cortiers Real Estate does a monthly foreclosure report and we know there were more than that. However, we also know that Brazos county averaged about 27 foreclosures per month in 2007 and 2008 and the average foreclosures for 2009 were about 31 per month. So a very small increase to say the least.
